Zora Neale Hurston

This is my favourite quote. Every time something racist is said, reported, tweeted, FBed or Tumblred this quote pops into my head. Some people use WWJD (What Would Jesus Do) to guide their decisions but I prefer the words of Ms. Hurston.

As a journalist trying to break into the fashion journalism industry I often worry that my words and stance on race and racism will prevent me from being hired but this quote keeps me from silencing and censoring myself.
